  1. My guinea pig eats anything in it's sight, she loves cucumber, apples, carrots, grass, leaves

I sometimes treat her to a fruit stick which is made of seeds and stuff, it fastens to the wire of the cage and she nibbles it off there, it's usually gone in a day though.

  2. Did you know that they are very dependant on vitimin c so they love orange juice or a slice of orange.

  3. guinea pigs love cucumber, peppers, carrots, dandilion leaves, celery leaves.and apples, maybe some other fruit and vedges but never give them pips or seeds they can make your guinea pig ill also they dont have citris fruits like oranges as they are too acidic for them

  4. Hay.

Hay is ESSENTIAL for guinea pigs and they must have an unlimited supply- you'll see it goes quite quickly.

On top of that, they should be given fruit/veggies on a daily basis, such as carrots, cucumber, cabbage etc. They also like apples.

However, hay and their mix food is the most important part of their staple diet.

  5. Mine used to love the pellet mix that had dried tropical fruit in it

and when i gave them grass, carrots and lettuce they loved that too..as a treat

for some reason they liked saladas (crackers)...don't know why

  6. I have kept four to ten guinea pigs for the past 4 years and I am very familiar with them.

    1. Guinea pigs get bored SO EASILY with boring guinea pig mix. They LURVE anything green.

    2. GRASS GRASS GRASS rules over anything else. Guinea pigs will gobble up grass as soon as they see it, no matter how timid they are.

    3. They also can (and will, definitely) eat the following:

    lettuce

    carrots

    broccoli

    brussel sprouts (yes!)

    most types of leaves

    potato

    capsicum

    tomato (not too much though)

    apple

    cucumber

    Hope thisis helpful!

  7. HAY AND  LETTICE

  8. Guinea Pigs rely on humans to provide them with the Vitamin C that they need. Similarly to humans-their bodies cannot produce it naturally. They need a balanced diet with a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Guinea Pigs usually eat a diet of Grass and other greenstuff in the wild. This is why they enjoy eating fresh veg and Grass.

Some of the best fruit and veg that your Guinea Pig will enjoy are:

    Carrot

    Cucumber

    Broccoli

    Celery

    Apple

    Grape

Cauliflower leaves (usually called 'Greens' in the supermarket)

    Sweetcorn

NEVER FEED YOUR GUINEA PIG LETTUCE AS THIS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR PET'S HEALTH.

Guinea Pigs should be fed a variety of different fruit & veg every day along with some dried pet food from your pet shop.

Your Guinea Pig's will love Grass, which can be fed as a special treat a few times a week- just make sure it hasn't been harmed by any chemicals (weedkiller etc).

Why not buy your Guinea Pig some special treats from your pet shop? (Gerty Guinea Pig ones are good)

    Hope this helps

  9. ok, Don't give them any citrus fruit because it is too acidicy. and only give them apple in small quantitys because of them same reason.

Here is a list of things to feed them.

    *** Cucumber

    *** Carrot

    *** Tomatos

    *** Broccili

*** Fresh Grass (make sure there are no pesticides or lawn feed on it etc)

*** Corn on the Cob (Sweetcorn)

    *** Pears

*** Lettuce (in small quantities because it has little nutricial value)

You can also buy 'nibbles' from pet shops designed for guinea pigs, however i find fresh food is much more appreciated.

    Hope this helps!

  10. they love apple wood if you have a apple tree or know someone that does cut a branch off and cut it up into sticks and leave them in between the bars of the cages ..ur guinea pig will love you forever.

  11. A large variety of veggies. I use to toss carrotts or celery in every day but not a lot. They also like the occassional slices of apple. Grass they LOVE! I use to take mine outside and put them in a gated area and they'd eat grass like it was the greatest.

  12. guinea pigs like fruits and vegetable, but not the acidic fruits, like citrus... they eat grass, celery, cucumbers, apples, lettuce.... all that.... but, just to let you know, guinea pigs cannot live off of vegetables alone. most veggies are like 90% water... they lack all the essential vitamins and nutrients they need, so, it wont hurt them to eat it, but they need other food too. i hope i answered it well enough.

    have a great day!!!

  13. hay is an essential and should be readily available around the clock. guinea pigs should never be fed potato or potato skins as it can be fatal to them. lettuce is bad for them as it has too high water content which can lead to them developing a running bottom. also onion and orange, and some apples can cause mouth ulcers so be wary. my guinea pigs eat pellet foods (stops selective feeding) and hay, and then every day they get a different veg or fruit. anything from the following list my pigs love.

    apples

    bananas(with skins)

    carrots

corn on the cob(probably a favourite)

    broccoli

    cauliflower( white and leaves)

    kale

    parsley

    pear

    cucumber(small amounts as very watery)

    cabbage

brussell sprouts(very cute when they all run around with one in there mouths)

    swede

    parsnip

    turnip

    peppers(remove all seeds)

    baby corn

    sweet potato

occasionally grapes(love them but high sugar content)

celery(cut into chunks so the fibres arent long)

    tomato

also they love grass and dandelions

cant think of any more right now, hope this helps

  14. My guinea pigs used to love parsley, the gobbled it down. Every day for their dinner I gave them lettuce, tomato, cucumber and parsely. They loved it! Always squeaked when they heard me chopping it up and saw me bringing it to their cage. They always ate the parsley first, I think they really like it.
