when should i take my guinea pigs to the vet....like i got them in the begining of summer and i dont no if they have been to the vet or not....please help

The BEST answer would be to phone your veterinarian and ask him. I would guess that most rodent collectors don't take their animals to the vet at all, even tho it's a good idea.  Let the doctor answer this important question.

Take them to the vet when it has gunky eyes, overgrown nails, or if something doesn't seem right.

really they only need to go to the vet if there is something wrong with them - like if they start loosing weight/fur, lose mobility or get fleas etc etc
