Guinness Dusty finishes first in the PRIMUS TELECOM PUPPY DERBY TRIALSTAKES at Henlow on Jan 19
Guinness Dusty’s consistency and speed helped him seal the top position in the PRIMUS TELECOM PUPPY DERBY TRIALSTAKES, hosted at Henlow on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
Droopys Scolari’s son out of Kilelton Rose started off the event with odds of 2 to 1, the highest for any contestant in the heat.
After leaving the sixth stand, the blue dog maintained a decent lead all the way through, clocking the distance in 28.84 seconds.
S. A. Cahill, Guinness Dusty’s trainee, would have been a happy man after his dog’s dominating performance in the high profile race.
No hound was able to challenge the winner, as the runner-up, Sids Champ, finished four lengths adrift of Guinness Dusty.
The son of Burnpark Champ out of Ballymac Mir was carrying the winning chances of 4 to 1, breaking in from the third stand.
He stayed at the second place throughout the race, reaching the post in 29.16 seconds.
Mountjoy Eagle secured third place by covering the area in 29.33 seconds. His starting price was 7 to 2, as the black and white dog commenced his run from the fourth stand.
Since Droopys Scolari’s son out of Star Of Dromin got crowded in the middle, he completed the race two lengths adrift of the runner-up.
The fourth place belonged to Pantone Ava, the brindle b***h, with the winning possibility of 5 to 1.
The daughter of Kinloch Brae out of Dear Frankie was forced to check, but she finished strongly, crossing the wire in 29.42 seconds.
The fifth and sixth positions, respectively, went to Winner Takes It, and Tippy Court – the two hounds, who got crowded badly on the track.
Winner Takes It, carrying the winning chances of 12 to 1, made it to the finish line in 29.72 seconds, a short head’s distance ahead of the back marker.
Tippy Court, the son of Hotshow Ben out of Hawkette completed the order of finish, bridging the distance in 29.73 seconds.
His winning prospects were 7 to 2, as he started off from the trap number two.
Guinness Dusty did justice to his potential by winning it comprehensively. It was a convincing win for the blue dog and therefore, he will certainly be the bettors’ first choice in the next races.
