Guinness Kev likely to shine in RD Racing Trafalgar Cup - Heat 3 – Preview
A dominating performance earlier this week helped Guinness Kev become potential favourite for third heat of the RD Racing Trafalgar Cup, taking place at Oxford on Saturday.
According to the schedule, the £150 worth, 450 metre long Open Race will commence at 21:21 (GMT).
Likewise, the opening two heats of the high profile competition, this contest has an exciting line-up.
Among the contestants are Smiler Jack, Ballymac Jones, Tullymurry Bono, Guinness Kev, Angelic Lottie, and Guinness Dusty.
Guinness Kev’s name is at the top of the list of favourites.
The black and white dog truly deserves this tag, as he is in good form at the moment.
In a 460m heat on February 7, Droopys Vieri’s son out of Miss Modesty was at his best, sealing the top position by a handsome margin of three lengths.
Although he was not impressive in his second last outing, a classy win in the previous heat prompted the bookmakers to rate him high for this clash. S. Cahill’s young trainee will look to replicate what he did at Henlow, and that will be enough for him to top the chart yet again.
If someone tries to figure out the second favourite, two names will pop up in his mind.
Smiler Jack and Guinness Dusty are likely to be given same odds, as both of them have the ability to spring up a surprise.
However, there is a slight difference between their respective performances recently.
Smiler Jack is coming to this heat with a win to his credit. In the first week of this month, the black dog unleashed a superb performance at Romford, beating the famous, Isheforreal, by a short head’s margin. It was a good performance by someone who was crowded near the beginning.
On the other hand, Guinness Dusty is stepping in with an ordinary show under his belt.
The blue dog recorded a couple of excellent wins last month, but lost his rhythm after that.
On February 2, he was fifth on the table, only better than the Back Marker. However, Droopys Scolari’s son out of Kilelton Rose can be trusted, because all he needs to spark is a good start.
Tullymurry Bono, and Ballymac Jones are also sitting at the same level at the moment. Both dogs were below-par in their respective previous race, and it has always been hard to recommend someone after a defeat.
Tullymurry Bono, Swords Prince’s son out of Ballydaniel Hare, completed the finishing order when he made his last outing at Hove on Feb 2.
The brindle dog has been doing nothing special over the past few weeks and thus, his chances are quite bleak. Similarly, Ballymac Jones performed poorly in his previous heat at Henlow.
Despite the fact that his embarrassing display came after a few good runs, that defeat has dented his starting price terribly. The dog did a superb job in January, but it would be a tough outing for him tonight.
Angelic Lottie’s does not have bright chances, and can be termed as the least favourite. In her previous race earlier this week, the black b***h fell terribly and therefore; her confident might be a bit shaky.
The above mentioned stats show that Guinness Kev will be the most preferred hound tonight. However, he cannot take anything for granted, since Smiler Jack, and Guinness Dusty will look to fancy their chances.
