Guinness Smokie expected to be dominant in Gala Coral Sprint
Guinness Smokie is likely to walk away with a comfortable victory in the Gala Coral Sprint at Hove in England on Thursday, August 16, 2012. He has been delivering some decent results over the past few races and his team will be eying a cash prize of £150
from the Grade OR event.
Although, there are some very good runners lined up for action in the 285 metres flat race, yet no one seems to be in a position to match the skills of Guinness Smokie, who has been given a general starting price of 4 to 6 by the bookmakers. He will definitely
attract the most number of bets from the punters.
The S. Cahill’s trained hound made his debut at Hove in November and has mostly raced at this venue since then. He seems to like the shorter distance events, as his speed is quite impressive. He started off his career with a few trial events and displayed
decent skills in them.
Following his participation in the trial events, the young hound was tested in a D1 race and proved to be highly competitive in it. He was not rated as the favourite back then, but gave a tough time to the winner, finishing just half a length behind him.
The blue dog’s next outing was in a Grade OR event and he was given the best odds for victory that time around. He was unable to meet the expectations of the bookies though and had to settle for third place in the end.
In March 2012, Guinness Smokie was once again given a chance to prove his worth in a Grade OR event. He had performed well in other classes prior to that, thus the bookmakers rated him as the favourite to win. He did not disappoint them that time around
and secured the top spot by a short head distance. This was his first ever victory in this class.
In his most recent race, Droopys Scolari’s son out of Kileton Rose was up against some very good runners, but managed to give a tough time to them. He ended up third though and will need a better effort in order to outperform his rivals at Hove.
