  1. Your fingers may be a bit weak if you cant hold it down hard enough.

Just practice a lot and you'll get it.

Try playing the first pull of first, and just practice it over and over again.

Then bar your index finger and try playing the whole thing.

Some good ways to strengthn your fingers are practicing chords, or better yet, playing an acoustic. The action is higher, and the string guages are thicker on acoustics, which make it harder to finger the notes. After a few weeks of playing on an acoustic, fingering on an electric should be a breeze.

  2. Play them slowly and keep playing it faster and faster until you have it at the right speed. That's what I do for solos and it works pretty well. Might take awhile though.

  3. Well, you could start by practicing your pentatonics at the 12th fret. It's not a very difficult l**k, it's pretty repetitive, the only thing difficult is that 16th note thing in there.

If you can't make the pull off sound loud enough, then your fingers are weak and need strengthening. Practice, practice, practice! There are no easy shortcuts on this - you must develop your finger strength and control to pull it off correctly.

The other answerers had a good suggestion - try it slowly first, then speed up. If you just try to do it fast you'll do it wrong or not be able to do it at all.

  4. usually when i have a song (or part of one) that is a little fast, or i can't hit the notes, i'll play it slow and work my way up to the song's actual speed. I had the same problem when i started playin' guitar but eventually i'm sure you'll get it.As for the finger-tapping, i would look up on youtube lessons or tips on how to tap. it's not a hard thing to do though it does take time to learn to do. It took me about a week to perfect tapping for the intro to "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC

    Good Luck and Rock ON!

  5. Turn the volume up and see if you can hear the change in sound. Try to pluck the string, with the hand holding the note, after you play a note.
