Guitar Hero for young children ...?

Question

I have a friend that bought this for his 6 yr. old son.

But the commercials say "rated for teens" ... ?

I also have a child that age... should I allow my child to play too?

Why is this teen rated? What is in this game, specifically, that would be inappropriate for a yound child?

It seems to be too hard for a small child.  I`m 15 and play occasionally.  I dont have the actual game, my friend does.  You have to have a good sense of rhythm and hand eye coordination to play the game.  Even the easy setting is pretty hard when you just start playing.  

Guitar hero is amazing, but only for people old enough to play it.  Otherwise it will just frustrate them.

Guitar Hero is coming out for DS in June.  I am definately going to buy it!

Edit: Playing ANY instrument, fake or not, improves hand eye coordination.

Some of the lyrics and suggestive outfits are older rated, however my 6 year old son plays better than I do.

its not innapropriate at all.

you get little kids playing smackdown and halo.

its just rated for teens, because that's the selected audiance.

i can't think of anything innapropraite, except some of the backup dancers moves.

there isn't any swearing or anything though.

it'll be difficult for a 6 year old, but then again, you get little kids that are awesome at it.

i guess its you discresion.

I dont think it is good for any one but 6 is definatley too young. Try some real instrument for him. I think the hand eye coordination thing is B.S.! Games just make them(children) lazy!

but its where there is a fake guitar and you have to hit the notes as they come up and its teens cuz of language i think n stuff cuz it swears alot but you can barely hear it most of the time and i say if you wanna let him play it let him its upto you

My 7 and 9 year love playing guitar hero.  All of us do.  Not sure why they rate it teen.

Letting your kids play video games don't make them lazy, letting them play it all the time makes them lazy.  

My kids (6 and 8) love it.  I don't know why it is rated for teens.

I think it would help with hand-eye coordination. I have played it and don't understand why it is rated for teens. My daughter is 3 and loves to dance and sing to it. She even picks up the guitar and can play the green note. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

The game is no different than listening to the radio.  My kids love it.
