Guitar Pick with an open hand, and my 3 fingers touch high e string?

i play guitar using my pick normally and have my 3 unused digits sorta anchor my picking hand. when ever i play a low e string my other digits tend to touch the high e string, somethimes grip it, it makes no noise, but it annoys me bc i dunno it its wrong. ive been playing for about 7 years and until now i never gave a c**p.

any opinion would be great

  1. I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with anchoring your picking with free fingers.  But I wouldn't ever use the high E to be the anchor.  Rather put a finger on the guitar body below the high E and then you won't be in the way of any strings you might reach for.  It's also good to be able to play without the anchor and often important (like for rhythm) for your hand to not be anchored to play freely.

  2. Yeah you need to change the angle of your hand. I sometimes anchor my hand with my other fingers, like when I'm playing straight power chords. but you shouldn't have to. That probably makes a lot of things a lot harder, so try just strumming basic chords and pick up your fingers and relax your wrist, that should help.

  3. No man thats the right way of playing

    Exactly how I play
