Guitar Pickup Tape removal?

Alrite, well lets see, I'm a perfectionist, sort of... Well on my guitar the pick up tape that goes around it is sort of curved and it bothers me, if I would cut the pickup tape would there be damage to the pickup or could lead to damage, and is there a way I can replace it?

You can toally remove the pickup.  Simply, take it off, remove the tape and reinstall the pickup.  No harm done.
