  1. well i'm a bassist, but a few friends on mine needs a bass player and i just decided i would learn to join there little band. I used youtube alot to learn how to play. I have never played on stage yet.

If your intrested in learning look at the instrutional videos on youtube there are some that will really help you progress.

  2. My Father got me interested when he was playing music onstage. I was 5 or 6 when i was invited to his gigs. I used to sit in front of his amp and watch his fingers fly over the guitar. I wanted to be able to do the same thing. He sat me down with some beginners music lessons he wrote and got me started. He was a bit forceful toward me and i began being afraid of making mistakes around him so i quit while he was around, but i still had the urge to play so i finished his lessons on the sly. I found i had a natural ability for reading music and finished his lessons quickly while he wasnt around.

Soon finally I told him i had finshed his lessons and he heard me play, so he wrote a duet for guitars and we did these together. He enrolled me in a school of music afterward where i went through 6 books my first lesson (i was 12 by then). This school was affiliated with the University of Kansas City Conservatory which is now called the Kansas City Conservatory of Music in Missouri. After 4 years i was invited to play in an Orchestra at the Conservatory. I also had started my own "Rock" band 2 years earlier and we began playing for weekend gigs in our hometown making extra money. So throughout Junior high and high school i was quite busy playing gigs. And to think it had all began because i became frustrated with my Fathers way of teaching. (Imagine that!)

By the way, this all took place before the Beatles and during. (1957- 1968)

  3. The first thing that made ME want to play is loving THE BEATLES!!!!!!!!!! I became a big fan and really wanted to learn how to play the instrument so i begged for one for Christmas. What helped me learn at first was the piano. I played the piano\keyboard and i would get chords off of there then go play it on my guitar. I have never played on stage but i plan to. I want to back up really good choir kids in my high schools talent shows! I can play songs by The Beatles(of course!)Rolling Stones Green Day My Chemical Romance Kelly Clarkson and more! Rock On All People! I love my guitar and truly love music! Oh yeah I soon got a whole bunch of chords and lyrics off of the internet! Happy Guitar Days........Another edit I have played the piano on stage and that is an experience! I shaked until i put my hands on the instrument and then its just great! And after your done you get a great feeling thats indescribable and im sure it will be that way with my guitar Once again Happy Guitar Days!!!!

  4. i just love music. i had a great teacher that really took the time to teach me. and yes i have played on stage. you really need to want to play to be good i think. if u r doing it just for the chics, well good luck.

hope it works out for you

  5. listening to classic rock n roll and even the new stuff as i grew up. lessons at first helped most but after that it was just common sense and playing what i had tabbed out in my head and trying to expreses it through guitar. my band does play many small gigs of about 50 - 60 peopel a night every week

  6. Well, i started playing because i thought "if listening to music made me ecstatic, then playing it would indescribable " So i learned with a few books and have been playing for a few years now... Playing on stage is the greatest feeling in the world. It's that rush of excitement and fear all at once... kinda like riding a roller coaster... and then when you finally finished playing that beautfiul piece you worked on for so long, all the fingerings and shifts , it's just an amazing feeling when you get a standing ovation.. even if it only lasts a few seconds...
