  1. Yes that makes sense...your having troubles with 'barre' chords...where your fingers have to 'bar' more than on string at a time.   I show these chords to my level 2 students after they learn all the other easier ones.  It just takes time and you'll get it....your just used to getting the other easier ones faster.  Make sure your not barring a string with the part of your finger where theres a line where your knuckle bends (hard to explain but I hope you understand that).

Its normal that this is a little harder but you will get it I swear

  2. Bar chords like these are hard at first, but you will eventually get more finger strength as you play. The more you play, the more strength and dexterity you will get. Just practice playing chords like these even if they don't sound right at first. And remember to press hard with your thumb and pointer finger. Don't 'fret', you will get it soon.

    pardon the pun.

  3. I have always had a hard time playing bar chords so, I cheat.  I use finger #1 to hold down the base note, and the other three to hold down the notes for the chord and then just don't hit the strings that I missed.  When you're playing some of the more progressive rock tunes, you move through them so quickly that most people never notice.
