1. Well I bought a new guitar recently but I have no amp. yet.

I was wondering whats the best kind of amp for a sort of cheap price, and It doesnt have to be one of those huge ones, just something to play in my room.

2. I was wondering, to have something in Drop B tuning to you need to have thicker/heaver strings?

And how much does it usually cost for those string, and an amp?

--Thanks alot.

=)

  1. 1. Check out ibanez, fender, and line 6 amplifiers. If you are looking for something small go with an 8" 15 watt amp. They offer plenty for the novice and as long as your not gigging you will be fine.

    2. No you do not need heavier strings but personally i love my ernie ball skinny top heavy bottoms (not suggesting you buy these they are just my preference). I also only play in drop D. The strings are not necessary but i would suggest them from personal experiences.

    3. Strings figure $5-10 give or take. The amp will prob cost somewhere between $75-125. Check out www.musiciansfriend.com this is the site I use.

    Good luck
