Question:

Guitar/amplifier 'buzz'

I have recently aquired an electric guitar and amplifier. However i cannot hear the guitar properly for the awful 'buzzing' sound off the amp.
I know it is very ignorant of me but i hav'nt a clue how to go about stopping this problem.
The amplifier is a vox valvtronix 15amp and the guitar is a yamaha pacifica 112.
