Guitar hero's guitar compatibility?

hello i just bought a second hand version of guitar hero 3 with guitar and i just want to know will the guitar be compatible with guitar hero world tour coming out later this year or do i need to buy another guitar controller?

i believe it would be. it better be i just recently bought a new controller also.
