Guitar multi fx?

i have been looking around for a new effects pedal (i have never bought one before) and i am interested in the lower price range.

i have been considering the DigiTech RP-250 and the Zoom G1X because of their price.

i play a lot of the old heavy metal like black sabbath, skid row, deep purple and all that stuff. im also interested in modern rock/pop such as red hot chilli peppers, seether and all that, i also like modern hard rock but i dont really play that. i am most interested in the sounds of the 70's and 80's.

can you please suggest which of the two is the better one for my style, or if you know of any others that would suit my style, suggest them plz.

i am not willing to pay more than $100 for it since im going to have to import to south africa. also keep in mind that it needs to be quite tough as i tend to abuse things a bit.... nah just kidding im just clumsy sometimes

thanks

  1. I would caution that even at the high-end of multi-fx units, it's hard to reproduce many kinds of sounds.  The 70's sounds for sure and many 80's sounds are coming from analog fx boxes and tube amps.  So it may be hard to recreate the sounds you are thinking about from a digital device.

  2. Due to your price limit, the Zoom G1X.  I own one.  It's awesome.
