Guitar neck?

i want to change the neck on a piece of c**p guitar.

would any other bolt on neck fit?

or does it have to be the same brand as the guitar

  1. Like he said, if an acoustic - generally not unless you can remove/re-engineer your own bridge.  With bolt on necks it needs to fit the cavity of the old neck fairly close so it all lines up as far as string spacing at the nut, length can be different since the bridge saddles can be moved to set the intonation.


  2. The brand is not that important but the lengthof the new neck has to be exactly like the onle neck.

    If it is shorter or longer, the harmonics will be more than completely off. WHen their is 1/8" in the length, there will be enough adjustment o the saddle to compensate.

    But if the gitar is an acoustic, you need the exact same neck because you will ot be able to offset with the bridge since their are no adjustments for compensation.
