  1. Without knowing your mom, if I were you, I would sit with her and tell her I was committed to playing piano for FIVE years and wasn't even interested in it, I know your disappointed and think I'm wasting five years of hard practice but now this is something I really want to do - won't you support me in that?

Besides, your hand coordination from playing piano will go a long way in playing guitar.  Good luck.

  2. You played an instrument you hated for 5 years, I think it's your turn to pick one. And if you want guitar, more power to you. I've been playing for about a year now, and it has really payed off. I get noticed in more places now, and sparked relationships that otherwise never would have been. It's easy enough to learn and even teach yourself.

As far as getting a guitar, though. Try searching ebay and garage sales for something decent and cheaper than you'd get in stores.

  3. find a hot guy to teach you for free

    theres plenty out there

  4. electric...go with a mexican made telecaster, and a combo amp with some effects...I highly reccomend johnson amps...they add like 300 sounds for the guitar...

  5. Save your money and buy a guitar.  This will prove to your mom how serious you really are.
