I have an acoustic guitar, but recently the fifth string has been buzzing when I play open or first fret. I have a humidifier is that is contributing or helping, but I really have no clue what to do. Please help me out. Thanks a lot in advance.

  1. Your humidifier is not the problem. Otherwise all would be affected.Try raising the strings.Hope this helps....

  2. It sounds like that string is vibrating against the 2nd or 3rd fret.  Look at it very closely at each fret while it is buzzing.  If that is the problem try raising the string at the nut (the part that the strings go over near the tuners) You can raise it with a very thin piece of plastic film under the string. I have used part of a zip lock bag. If one layer doesn't do it try something a little thicker. If that works.Trim off as much as possible.

  3. If it's buzzing when the string is hit open it's usually the nut where the string sits. As a test loosen the string then put a small bit of foil or paper or a bit of a match screwed up under the string as it sits in the groove. tighten the string and see if it still buzzes. 4. every neck  is adjustable   there is  a tension  rod that  needs adjustment . some players like that litle buzz  depends  on  your style all necks are  made to  have a bow  between the  1st and  12th fret.  hold  the string down  at the 12th fret  at the 5th fret you should have  about an eighth of  an inch of  clearance  again this is a matter of preference nothing is wrote in stone if you still have problems  mail me and i'll try to help
