Question:

Guitar strings sound weird?

i just restrung my guitar but the low E string has a resonating sound like its hitting something. im new at this so can you tell why this is so? is it because my strings are low quality or if i strung it wrong?

  1. it could be that the key on the head is loose causeing the sound, or that its been strung an octave lower than it should, causing the loose sound... try tightening it to the above E .. if it breaks you know that it wasnt because it was loose :)

  2. more than likely you strung it wrong...straight up through the peg..loop it back around and underneath the string...pull and hold remaining slack up tight and turn the peg counter clockwise.

  3. i get this problem too.

    i know how to fix it.

    okay take your E.

    make it loose.

    than use your fingers and kind play around with the string in the back get in and out again. and then pull it out and make sure it lies straight on the little dent line. then line in your string again.

  4. you have low quality string and you also need to get thinner set of strings. you should be back on track. i recommend " Dean Barkely for acoustic electric guitar" and "Fender flat wound for electric guitar"
