Guitar tab symbol help.

I got a new guitar tab the other day. and it has 6--8 but under them there is a sloping line connecting them, what does this mean? also if theres any other symbols which are helpful to know please list, Thanks!

  1. Does it mean slide up the fretboard?

    Or to bend the string?

    Or maybe hammer on.


  2. means you slide from 6 to 8.

    Edit: the line is underneath the numbers?

  3. If the slope just goes up to 8, then it's a slide. If the line goes down, then back up, it means tremolo bar. Hammer on and pull off are h.o. and p.o. ~ is vibrato, 1(4) would mean to play a trill with those frets. T above a note means tap it.

  4. definitely a slide form the 6th fret to the 8th...
