Guitar tabs?

can somebody show me how to read guitar tabs? or.. can somebody give me a website where it explains how to read them?

If you are that new to this... the don't waste time learning how to read TABS... you can learn how to read REAL MUSIC just as easily at your level and it will be much more usable to you in the future.

I can't really say reading Tabs is comparable to Sheet Music. Tabs are self explanatory and (most tabs) don't really aid in timing or any other intricacies of music. Real music is much more useful and (eventually) quicker to read.

the numbers you see mean where fret you have to hit or pluck the string. if a number is not aligned with another number, then that means you have to hit that string only for that given time.

the uppermost line is the "e" string, the lowermost is the "E".

also, if you see 5/7, that means from the fifth fret, you have to slide your finger up to the 7th.

if it's 5h7, it means, 5 hammer 7. after plucking the string on the 5th fret by a finger, you've got to put another finger on the 7th.

also, there are symbols like these: X (for dead string) O - for open string, and a lot more. haha.

wah. is this working? it's hard to explain without showing a demonstration. haha.
