  1. Practice. You just started today for crying out loud.

  2. Practice switching between the E and the A: take it slow at first and watch your left hand. See what your fingers do. Eventually they'll get to their respected places on their own.

If you think it takes "way too long" to get from an E to an A, imagine how "long" it will take you to get from an F to a G. There is no "special way" to get to changing chords faster. It's all practice.

  3. The A and the E you're learning aren't "notes" BTW -- they're called "chords".  Chords are 3 (or more) notes that when played together sound good together.  Chords are the basic building blocks of harmony, which is what you're playing -- you're going to sing the song (the melody) and play the chords (harmony) to accompany your singing.

But to get back to your question -- NO -- there is no "easy" way to learn to switch quickly between the A and E chords. Or between any other two guitar chords either, for that matter.  Its all a matter of PRACTICE.  You're teaching your hands to do something completely new -- something they've never done before.  its going to take time.  There is no getting around that.  You need to train your hands so that all you have to do is think "E chord" or "A chord" and your fingers will automatically know exactly where to go.  Its called developing "muscle memory" and the only way to do it is through days and weeks and months of repetitive practice, over and over and over and over again until it becomes automatic.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it WILL take you more than a week or even a month, to learn to play guitar.  Expect it to take YEARS if you're serious about really getting good at it.  There are no shortcuts or easier, faster "special ways of playing".

If you're not willing to put in the effort, then stop now, take the guitar back to the store and find another hobby.

  4. I do not know about any techniques.  It's actually not too hard to make that switch.  Go from E to A without moving your fingers, and only moving your hand.

  5. there is no special way to change to chords or notes faster, the way to do it is just practice strumming them and switching between them.
