Saw him against Manchester Utd and he was pretty useful.

  1. I was at Old Trafford on Sunday and was quite impressed by him. I was tempted to do what OShea has done and transfer him into my fantasy team, but then I remembered that a certain Massimo Taibi got Man of the Match on his debut. We all know what happened then!

Like you say - "Let's see how he performs week in week out".

I heard good things about Guthrie, but didn't notice him TBH. The mop-haired defender seemed pretty good, but I think Nicky Butt was excellent for them in midfield - good to see him doing well.

  2. I saw him too, very fast this guy. He gave Brown on the right side a hard day. I think he'll do well for Newcastle, N'Zogbia & Guitteirez both on the left side, both with great pace, i think thats where they will get their goals from.

  3. oshe how comes everyone putting him i his dreamteam after one good performance!!sure hes quality but how do you know hes going to get you goals and assists.

  4. after his performance against Man Utd i put him in my dream team so he better perform well, i agree that it does look like they have finally made a good signing, although that dive was one of the most comical attempts i have seen for a while but to be fair to him he realised as soon as he started falling how ridiculous it looked and was straight back up so i'll let him off on that one.

Personally though i just can't wait to see this:

EDIT - yea it is a huge gamble Tim especially since i already have Butt so having 2 Newcastle players with a defence as leaky as theirs is a bit risky! surely no one can be as disastrous as Taibi... can they?

@ Red D - i don't know that he will but that is what fantasy football is all about you have to take risks with some players and hope it pays off, trust me as a Man Utd fan i know you can't judge on one performance (otherwise we would be screwed) but from what i saw he should do well and KK is known for his attacking football, also it works the other way too I've got Santa Cruz and there is no guarantee that he will do well this season, remember Benni McCarthy, quality first season haven't seen much since!

  5. all 3 great signings but to be fair all the past signings that were poor were mostly because of the managers, keegan knows the market well and knows what he needs.

  6. only time will tell................

  7. A draw with Man U...the boys did something right...without Viduka AND Owen. Congrats to Newcastle.

I'm anxious to see what these new signings bring the team.
