Gujarat Cricket Association says 19,000 tickets sold in less than two hours - ICC World Cup 2011 news
The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) authorities have said that 19,000 tickets for the second quarterfinal between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at Motera stadium have been sold in less than two hours, whereas 3000 tickets were sold online.
There were set rules and one person could only buy a maximum of two tickets. Almost 10,000 people purchased tickets. Many fans have also said that the sale of tickets in the black market was being done openly and security forces were not doing anything about
it.
According to sources, many people were disappointed as they were treated badly by the security officials and the police. Despite being thrashed by the police, they could not purchase the tickets at the actual rate. Nevertheless, they had to pay extra to
get the tickets for the match. The sources also added that several people were selling the quarterfinal tickets on the black market.
The original price of tickets was Rs. 100 and some people have sold tickets at nine times the price. The public also had to face difficulty and stress because the ticket window was open for an hour and a half on Sunday and just for fifteen minutes on Monday,

Despite numerous efforts, the secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association Rajesh Patel could not be informed about the whole situation. Other higher authorities of the Association remained silent and avoided commenting about the whole chaos. They did not
make any comments to the media.
