Gum flap healing over tooth after wisdom teeth extraction?

I noticed that there is a gum flap over the second molar tooth and looks to be attached to it. Is this a complication? Will I need to see a dentist? Can this this be fixed?

  1. If you had stitches on after the exraction and is scheduled another appointment to remove those stitches then you should not have any problem.

But if the gum flap stays there, there might be complications. You might not be able to clean your tooth that is covered by the flap properly and lead to cavities that you might not know and eventually losing that tooth.

You can consult your dentist to cut off that gum flap for easier brushing.

If not, you have to take extra care of that tooth. make sure no food stays underneath.

  2. Should go away on its own.
