Guniea Pig eating Hamster Food!?

Ah! what will happen if a Guinea Pig eats Hamster Food!?!?!? ahhh!

Your Guinea Pig should only eat food that is for guinea pigs.  Hamster food doesn't contain the correct vitamins etc that a Guinea Pig needs.

Guinea Pigs need a daily dosage of vitamin D (I think or it maybe C) and hamster food doesn't contain this.  So please get the correct food.  I'm not sure where you live but if you're in the UK, go to your local Pets at Home, they are very knowledgable.

It is not good for a Guinea Pig to eat Hamster food!

Guinea pigs can't make their own vitamin C like most other animals so they have to eat guinea pig nuggets or guinea pig muesli as it has the correct amount of extra vitmain C to ensure that the guinea pig is healthy.

If they don't have the right amount of vitmain C their health will start to suffer.

They shouldn't do it on a regular basis.  They have food specifically made for guinea pigs and that is what they should eat.

Well, as long as its not on a regular basis... Heck! my dog eats my rabbits dried food when i leave the door open by accident, , and hes  OK, done it plenty of times, as long as you dont give it to the guinea pig, as its main nutrition.
