Gunnar Bentz secures Men’s 200m IM crown: 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals
Day five of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals saw an impressive swim in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 12. The session of the meet conducted Men’s 200m Individual Medley A, B and C finals.
In the Men’s 200m IM A final heat, Gunnar Bentz of Dynamo Swim Club earned the top spot with a winning mark of 2 minutes and 02.71 seconds. Andrew Porter of Cabrillo Threshe was placed second with a sterling time of 2 minutes and 03.46 seconds, while Tynan
Stewart of YMCA Hub Fins settled third with an impressive mark of 2 minutes and 03.71 seconds.
William Licon of Una Ntro was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 04.60 seconds, while Charles Katis of Curl Burke Swim wound up fifth with a time of 2 minutes and 05.00 seconds. Patric Mulcare of Dayton Raiders earned sixth place honours in a time
of 2 minutes and 05.25 seconds, whereas, Marco Bove of Mission Viejo Na settled seventh with a time of 2 minutes and 05.41 seconds.
Jack Lane of Dynamo Swim Club was placed eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 05.58 seconds, while Curtis Ogren of Peak Swimming grabbed ninth spot with a time of 2 minutes and 05.71 seconds. Carlos Omana Metro Aquatic finished tenth in a time of 2 minutes
and 06.71 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m IM B final heat, Jonath Edwards of Fleet Swimming was placed first with a winning mark of 2 minutes and 05.50 seconds. Daria Brunetti of Du Hilltoppers wound up second with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 06.22 seconds, while Sean Duggan
of Highlander Aquat earned third place honours with a time of 2 minutes and 06.42 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Men’s 200m IM C final heat was clinched by Alessandro D of Bolles School Sh with a winning mark of 2 minutes and 06.67 seconds. Eugene Tee of Team Santa Monic was placed second in a time of 2 minutes and 06.71 seconds, while
Scott Haeberle of Counsilman Cente rounded out the top three in a time of 2 minutes and 07.16 seconds.
Jordan Turner of Marietta Marlins finished fourth in 2 minutes and 07.54 seconds, while Domini Glavich of YMCA of the Tria settled fifth in the respective meet with a mark of 2 minutes and 07.68 seconds.
