Gunners boss Arsene Wenger calls for a perfect finish to Arsenal’s Premier League campaign: EPL News
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has urged his side to fight till the very last whistle blows in their Premier League campaign. The Gunners are fighting for the title with current leaders Manchester United and Wenger has demanded an all-out attacking approach from his boys, when they take on their bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. The two teams will lock horns on Wednesday, 20 April at White Hart Lane.
Manager was hopeful that his army could turn the tables on the Red Devils and will stretch them for the title to the very last day of the competition.
The Frenchman seemed furious after conceding an equaliser in the 12th minute of injury time to Liverpool and claimed that his team was hard done after the referee extended officially allotted eight minutes of injury time. He admired his team’s display against the Kops and has encouraged them to grab all the three points against Spurs on Wednesday.
He further added, "It was difficult to swallow, the equaliser [against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809], but you look forward and you want to put it right again in the next game - that is what our job is about," he added. When you play at Arsenal, you need to have the mental dimension to deal with that. We are on a 15-game unbeaten run and we want to continue that. Maybe, you never know, it will be a point that will be helpful at the end of the season."
Arsenal, so far this season have lost some unnecessary points and as a result find themselves seven points short of Manchester United. Wenger’s side must have got some heart after Sir Alex Ferguson’s side played out a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United on Tuesday, 19 April.
Wenger, while talking ahead of Arsenal’s do or die fixture, claimed, "We always play good games against Spurs, and played very well in September in the Carling Cup," he said. We will play our game, don't worry. We want to show we have the mental dimension to play for this club. The players want to show that and there is no better way to do that than against Spurs.”
Arsenal are currently second in the League table with 63 points and with six games remaining in the season, Wenger’s boys will hope to turn the tides on the Red Devils.
