Guns! Good? Bad? Your opinion please!?

Question

I personally think guns are a good thing. Used responsibly they can be one of the most fun activities out there. Before saying they are bad ask yourself two questions. Have you ever shot one? And have you ever heard of a shooting in a place known to have a large supply of guns? aka gun ranges or stores that sell guns. If everyone had a gun then no one would want to kill anyone or commit crimes knowing that they would be very quickly shot. This may sound very vigilante (and it is) but what if?

BTW invoking a gun ban is useless for this reason.

Hello i am mister criminal and i want to rob this convenience store (which I know is defenseless because of the gun ban) which carries a twenty year prison sentence. Carrying a gun is a two year prison sentence, but will help me subdue the clerk. Hmmm I think i'll use the gun cause really, whats two more years on twenty.

(people get drugs even though they're illegal, they'll get guns too)

Guns are good and good people should have guns to protect each other from bad people who would do us harm. Guns provide good entertainment, put food on the table, give Dads and sons bonding time together, make good investments in many cases, make a good and affordable hobby, have historical significance, and have shaped America values from it's earliest days.

Guns are out there ok- it doesnt make them good, but theyre out there, so authority should certainly have them. But I live in the highest crime city in the usa, gun shop liquor store on the every corner....hmmm wonder why there's so much crime?? and glamorizing them is irresponsible and bad as well. Guns should be seen as a last resort, people should never have to live in fear because a bunch of dummies have guns. I know some real idiots who carry them and it seems only idiots do. Some idiot pulled out a gun on my friend twice, just to act tough...yea he should be allowed to carry a gun?? i don't think so. Gun laws need to be stricter, because it's an automatic weapon, and should only be allowed to be purchased by people who have gone through some type of program to teach them about gun safety. There is just too much ignorance in the world, and too many ignorant people carrying guns. Plain and simple, more people die each year from gun violence than anything else. So you might want to think about why they're good again, because I don't see anything positive- it's just a quicker way to kill a man.

I hate guns as they might go off accidentally and kill or injure somebody has we are in the 21st century not the wild west we shouldn't have a gun.with license or not they are highly dangerous in the wrong hands.

Guns r good for self protection n stuff... everybody should be trained to protect themselves.. i think its stupid to have a ban on them!

Try protecting yourself without one if you are crippled, home bound or elderly.

Guns cause crime? How funny. Look at the murder and robbery rate in ENGLAND a nation of disarmed subjects....

Guns shops on every corner cause crime? Another Left wing Joke...Look at D.C., New York, Chicago...Guns are not Allowed to be owned by MOST legal residents and No Gun shops are allowed in D.C. Yet the Librocrates Sing the song of 'easy guns'.

But we wander out to Arizona where gun shops ARE prevalent and gun ownership IS high and we see a LOW crime rate.

I don't want you to miss my point....unarmed Citizen make the best targets for criminals. Armed citizens cause a greater death rate to the criminals.

As to the 'accidental discharge' nonsense....I own over 10 weapons and for over 40 years NONE of them have 'Accidentally' gone off. The only time they have gone off is when the TRIGGER is pulled....They are inanimate Objects, they can't function without assistance.

So in answer to the question Good or Bad??? Essential is more accurate.

You may say that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" but it's generally truer to say "Guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people".

You only have to look at the gun-related homicides in a country with a gun culture (e.g. USA) with a country without (the UK) - and you'll see that allowing guns increases the number of deaths.

when  gun  used for a good reason  like kill  criminals by it  than its really a  useful thing when some one kill  innocent people without any reason its very bad. but when we made things like gun bomb than no matter to think the things are bad or good bcoz littile people will use it for good reason but many using it just for their selfishness.

I am guessing that you are American? why would you give "the right to bear arms" to a nation of people where it seems just about every second person has a therapist! go figure? no! no one needs a gun.
