  1. You can't buy a gun for someone as a gift in NC. You can go with him to the gun dealer, who will then run the necessary checks on your father and allow him to purchase the gun, and register it to him. You are welcome to hand your father the money to pay for the gun.

  2. Look on page 24 on the below link

NC firearms law. This should answer your questions.

  3. NC has pretty lax gun laws, but I'm not sure about fully automatic weapons.  You have to know and understand the gun laws for the state you live in before purchasing one.

  4. Machine guns and hand grenades are a federal offense, sorry Homer.

  5. This is a Federal law which means that if a person qualifies, he or she can own a fully automatic firearm. There is a lot of confusion on who can/can't own a "machine gun". The Federal laws are quite clear along with the way to obtain and the cost to do so.

You will pay a fee and have a Federal tax stamp for each fully automatic weapon you own. Grenade, rocket launchers and other high explosive ARE prohibited. Those are considered federally destructive devices. Also under  the " machine gun laws" are sawed off shotguns or other short barreled weapons along with sound supressors( "silencers")", guns of certain age, and some other unusual firearms like pen guns etc. The transfer fee for some of those are less than the typical $200.00 for a "machine gun".

You would have to jump through a number of hoops to qaulify but it is still possible if you follow the laws. Unfortunately, many people are not aware that these "allowances" still exist. You can attend annual" machine gun shoots and shows" across the country and can "rent" a machine gun on their range.

Fortunately, North Carolina is one state where gun laws are more "liberal " than other states. I think they even allowed cocealed carry of a handgun. About 36-38 states allow this so the idea that firearms are extremely prohibited in the US is just BS. Just gotta live in the right state unless you are a retired Police officer, prison guard, military etc. and qualify for the Retired officer concealed Carry law that is a Federal law that went into affect around July of 2004. That allowed me to carry a concealed firearm in all 50 states with a few exceptions of exactly where, like schools or Government buildings.

Those that claim otherwise do not know what they are talking about.

  6. It is true ! You can not own a automatic in the us.

  7. yea u can get one i own plenty of fully automatic weapons its not illegal u just have to get a gun permit to buy the gun

  8. They are legal in NC but there have been no more automatic weapons made that are purchasable by civilians since 1986 (apart from dealers who sell to police).

  9. I think you can if your a gun collector.
