I can see that some of my answeres like their freedoms to choose but havent chosen if we should ban toy guns or brightly colored guns.

So what if brightly colored guns become common place and are allowed which means that police officers have to determine if the lil' kid on the street aiming a brightly colored gun at him is real or not. what will the delay reaction cost when there are lil' thugs all over the inner cities.

BTW

C'mon skull, You cannot compare condoms to guns. One kills they other doesnt.

  1. Your concerns are valid, frightening and the sad thing is it is Kids that will ultimately pay the price for this. Again kids are fair game and unprotected by the law. Imagine Cops are called out for a suspect, and kids are playing guns next door. One of the kids comes around the corner with a gun, that used to be identified by its bright orange barrel, and the cops now mistake it for an actual threat and open fire. This is a sad day indeed for all of us. Whats to stop criminals from painting the end of gun barrels bright orange to look like a toy? you can't. Over all I think it is irresponsible for this manufacturer, the only way to stop it is for people not to by guns from MFGs that participate in painting guns like toys.

  2. Although I personally find it to be a very, very unwise and dangerous practice, I cannot stand in favor of allowing the government to regulate what color a firearms is. Brandishing a weapon without justification is illegal, regardless of what color it is. To require guns to be black or silver is an infringement on firearms development. However absurd, I have to accept that someone obviously finds a use for these.

I also would not ban toy guns in light of new neon guns. I already think it's wrong that toy guns have to be bright orange. Once again, brandishing a weapon is illegal, even if the weapon is fake, and that orange strip is no legal protection. And nothing stops someone from applying orange to their real gun, or removing it from a fake one.

Basically, this is one of those times where the government is constitutionally restrained (though I doubt that will stop them). Bright guns do not affect national commerce, defense, or treaties, and so they will have a hard time finding federal authority for such a ban. Of course, that's what they said about the 1994 ban, and it got through.

  3. Anyone who makes a real gun look like a toy should be shot.

  4. I personnally think we should have it both ways.. I dont think they should allow toy makers to make toy guns. Maybe 30 years ago it was ok, but not in today society. And I do not think that gun makers should make guns in bright colors. To much room for error on both ends.

Kids need to learn that guns are not toys. Most parents do not bother to teach thier kids about gun safety which should be taught even with toys. You never know what situation your kid is going to end up in down the road and if they will find themselves picking up a gun that they think is a toy. Since parents arent responsible about it, you cant expect the kids to be. Throw in police who cant tell the difference.. its all a recipe for disaster.

  5. i think if i want to buy a bright green gun then that should be my right. i also think if you have your gun somewhere where there is a child that might try to play with it, the gun should be in a place that the child would not be able to get to and if you just leave any kind of gun somewhere where a child might get ahold of it than you deserve to come home to find your kid shot itself. they make condoms in bright colors too. are you saying that if some one decided to put one of those on they should think twice, due to the risk of a child thinking its a toy and trying to play with it?
