Gunshot wounds and comas??

basically i was wondering if someone was in a coma after being shot where might the person have been shot at? i was told the head bc i coma is cause from brain damage...or maybe the heart? soo if anyone knows where some has to be shot at to cause a coma...and how dangerous and chances of survivaul are please right back ASAP!!

  1. Probably the reticular formation in the brainstem...

    That's where the neural centers controlling conscience and awareness are located.


  2. Well it really depends, you can be shot anywhere and go into a coma, like after going into shock...so a lot of places

  3. The most likely place would of course be the brain.  The chances of survival and recovery are something only someone familiar with the case can talk about.

    I have had (CLOSED) head injury patients in coma for 6 months go to College a couple of years later, so all may not be lost.
