The former West Germany international believes that Koln is the perfect club for a striker of Podolski’s class. He expressed his concern over the player’s ability to perform with a bigger club and admitted that the German international’s

While talking to sports website, Bild.com, Netzer further elaborated:
"He is no player for a great European club. Even during his time at Bayern Munich he was missing clout and assertion. For Podolski it would be ideal if Koln would increase their contract offer - that would provide him with better
opportunities."
Podolski’s current contract with the Billy Goats will expire at the end of next season, but the striker wishes to part ways with the club in order to win trophies on a consistent basis. However, Koln bosses are keen to retain the
attacker for longer duration by renewing his contract at the RheinEnergieStadion.
Netzer stressed that the former Bayer Munich player should stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and a move to a club near to his hometown would be a viable option.
"An alternative would be a big club in the vicinity of his home in Koln, so he could combine business with pleasure," Netzer concluded.
The striker is currently into his second spell at Koln, and so far has scored 29 league goals from 75 appearances since rejoining the Rhine side from Bayern Munich n 2009.
