The former West http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international hailed the duo after Borussia Dortmund’s game against Werder Bremen and tipped the players to have a great future.
The Borussians started their title defence with a strong 2-1 win over Thomas Schaaf’s side at the Signal Iduna Park. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 opened the scoring for the home side in the 11th minute with a low shot past the keeper
and celebrated his first league goal in Dortmund colours.
The visitors equalised in the second-half through new signing Gebre Selassie and the game looked to be heading to a draw. However, Mario Gotze, who came in for Kevin Grosskreutz, scored the winner with nine minutes to go to give
the Black Yellows all three points.
Netzer claimed that Reus had added a whole new dimension to the Dortmund side. The former midfielder admitted that the German champions will heavily benefit from the signing and is confident that the player has some great years
ahead of him.
“With Marco Reus, BVB succeeded with great commitment. The boy is one of the most promising and, above all, useful players of the past decade. He has all the makings of a great footballer,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach man is delighted with the return of Gotze after a torrid season full of injuries last term. Netzer insisted that both Reus and Gotze are the future of German football and is hopeful that the
dup perform to their full potential for the national team as well.
“Gotze is also a beacon of hope for the all of German football. He is also back on the international scene at last, and is working way back up slowly again [after injury]. For Dortmund, and the national team, there must be a place
for two exceptional players like Reus and Gotze,” he concluded.
Marco Reus joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer for an estimated fee of €17.5 million. On the other hand, Gotze signed a new deal at the club in March this year to stay until the summer of 2016. So
the Dortmund fans will certainly see a lot of the two players in the next few years.
