Former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has advised the Munich giants against making any big-money signings this January.
The Bavarian giants have been in sensational form all season and have a world-class squad at their disposal. There have been injury problems for the clubs with the likes of Arjen Robben and Ivica Olic missing some part of the first-half
of the season through injury.
Netzer claimed that the former Bundesliga champions do not need any signings in the winter transfer window as they have a great squad which could definitely win them the title. The former Los Blancos player played down reports
that the Bavarian giants need to sign a defender this winter.
The former Hamburg manager insisted that Jerome Boateng is an exceptional player and can be a great help for the club for the remainder of the season. He admitted that the defender just needs time to settle down at his new club
and could be a very useful player in the years to come. He also hailed the signing of Manuel Neuer from Schalke this summer which has surely helped the defence to great effect.
“For God's sake, no! For example, [Jerome] Boateng is an outstanding solution for central defence and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 is one of the best signings ever,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Gunter Netzer tipped Boateng and Rafinha to shine in the second-half of the season and help the side to the Bundesliga title. He added that the remaining areas have ample replacements in the squad as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 has taken his chances
in the absence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danijel-Pranjic-c10154.
“He and Rafinha have not yet settled as well as they had thought they would. They will probably need some time,” he concluded.
The Munich based outfit has gone into the winter break being at the top of the table with 37 points, three ahead of the current Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund. They have made their place in the knock-out stages of the UEFA
Champions League and also in the quarter-final of the DFB-Pokal, where they will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879.
