Gunter Netzer says Pep Guardiola will change tactics at Bayern Munich – Football news
Former West http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international, Gunter Netzer, feels that the former player will drop tiki taka when he replaces Jupp Heynckes as the head coach of the Bundesliga club.
German football legend, Netzer, believes Pep will not ask Bayern Munich to play the tiki taka style of football. This brand was immensely popular at his former club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078. The Spaniard will join the German champions at the end of the current season.
“It will be interesting to see how Pep Guardiola will connect with the German aspects. I cannot imagine that he will employ Barcelona's short passing game at Bayern,” he added.
On the other hand, current boss, Heynckes, became the first person to guide a Bundesliga side to the treble this season. Moreover, Netzer thinks that Pep will urge his team to play to the Bavarian giants’ strengths and not the same style that he deployed
at the Camp Nou outfit.
“We will see cultured football, which will be adapted to the capabilities of Bayern. Guardiola will not turn everything on its head at Bayern. He will give the club ideas and improvements,” he mused.
The German icon claimed he is looking forward to how Pep implement things at the Allianz Arena. Also, he does not see him playing Barca’s passing football in Germany. Moreover, he expects to see a more natural game from Der FCB under their new coach.
“However, he will be smart enough not to omit the biggest positive elements of the team and not to drastically change its football ideology. This would be completely the wrong approach,” the former Barca coach said.
On the other hand, the former Catalan will try to improve the club and bring fresh ideas on board. Nevertheless, he will not make a huge mistake in changing the basics and foundations at the club.
Netzer is pleased that Die Roten and Borussia Dortmund reached the final of the UEFA Champions League this term which has further raised the profile of the league. However, he issued a warning that they should not think they have ended the supremacy of La
Liga in European football just yet.
