Mixed Doubles experts Guo Ong Jian and Loo Lim Yin showed superb coordination in group stage of Maybank National Circuit Grand Prix Finals and registered their first victory on December 27, 2012.
They were up against the compatriot duo Darren Isaac A/L Deva Dass-Yap Cheng Wen and this meeting ended in just two games.
The top seeded Malaysian team wrapped this showdown with a favourable result of 21-10 and 21-14.
Ong Jian and Lim Yin established an early grip straight away in the beginning of first set and maintained that upper hand all the way to final moments of this game.
They launched a brisk attack and pushed their competitors on back foot with 6-4 margin. This initial lead helped them in next couple of rallies and they finished first half of the set with a respectable figure.
Though, twosome of Darren Isaac and Cheng Wen made every effort to counterbalance the situation but they could not tip the scale in their favour.
Meanwhile, the other Malaysian couple clinched few consecutive points and widened the gap on points table.
Ong Jian and Lim Yin placed a decent total of 11 and then capitalised this advantage in latter part of the game.
They mounted pressure by piling up 16-9 figure and magnified the impact in third quarter of the set. They maintained a notable difference of eleven points and wrapped this segment of the showdown with 21-10 score.
The second set also belonged to Ong Jian-Lim Yin as they showed consistency in their performance and kept their challengers at the lower end.
This time they employed unusual tactics and confounded Darren Isaac-Cheng Wen with an unbeatable craft on court.
They placed an indomitable score before the announcement of one-minute break and made best out of this lead to seal a straight-set victory.
Ong Jian and Lim Yin did not make even a single mistake and this flawless display of badminton skills helped them to register an overwhelming total of 21-14.
This win took them into second stage of Group A where they will lock horns with Goh V Shem-Soong Fie Cho of Malaysia.
