I had my platies for a year now and they are all the same ones and I test the water and everything is fine. I don't have any luck with guppies and i heard they are easy beginner fish well their not for me?

  1. When you are buying fish make sure the tank where you buy them from doesnt have any dead fish. Also, it could be that your platies are attacking them and each other. Maybe you should try buying two females and a boy guppy. Before you put them in together, make sure you get them separated from the platies, you can do this with a divider. And let them grow big enough,2 once they are bigger let them live together. Also try having lots of places to hide o_o and good luck

  2. platies are not the nicest fish so maybe that is why. also since the guppies are small you need to make sure that you are putting them in the aquarium while in the bag so that they get use to the temperature before sumping them in.

  3. check the ph balance

    and the temperature

    the same happened to me

  4. you might have too many fish in the tank and might be making some tension between the fish making them arritated to each other and the place you bought them at they coudl have been sick already.great tip if your going to buy a fish at a fish store buy the small fish of the kind becuase you know it has been in the tank were they sell them the least and wont have as bad of condition as the older ones.
