Guppies eating guppies?!?!?!?!?!?

i have a big female guppy in a 10gallon and bout 15 of the 1.4cm guppies, sum of the small ones are colourfull, and the big female is eatin g only the colourfull ones how do i stop her?!?!?!!?

  1. with guppies you have 2 remove them as soon as their born she will eat them all. put in a seperate bowl til their bigger.


  2. you need to separate them! she will eat the smaller ones because they are vulnerable. how old are the small guppies? you have to keep them separated for at least 2 months after they are born. thats with all fishes.

    the reason why she eating the colourful ones are because they look more attractive she will eat all of them any way. they have to be at least 2 months old so they are big and mature.

    after 2 months add one guppy in with her see how they are in 3 days if she's fine then your okay to add them all back, if not then wait another month. =) hope this helps

  3. Check your water parameters. Also is the female guppie maybe eating them since she thinks its food. If they're not bigger than her mouth then the small fishes will get eaten. If your pH ammonia, ect. Is fine seperate the small fishes then.
