Guppy Pregnant Still???

OK so I had a breeding tank for my pregnant guppy and she gave birth this morning to 4 small baby guppies. Is that all she will have or could she still have more later, I just want to make sure I don't put her back into the normal tank and then find out that she still has more that will give birth in the main tank and get eaten by other fish.

  1. Putting them into a breeding tank often stresses them out so they hold the fry.  Since one guppy can have up to 100 fry at a time and more every 28 days it really isn't worthwhile trying to save them all unless you plan on being overrun with them.  Just put her in the tank and let nature take it's course.  If you keep lots of plants you will soon have more fish than you know what to do with.

  2. Many of my young females only have 3-6 the first time but from then on there are LOTS of fry born each time but waiting a day or so wont hurt a thing  good luck

  3. They usually give birth to more than just 4 so my bet is there are alot more to come.keep her in the breeding tank for a couple days and see if you see and more fry
