I have been keeping fish for a long time but have recently started breeding Guppies, I am having no probs getting them to breed but the babies are about 85% female, is this a water issue? I have been told that water temp and PH can make a differance

  1. I've also read in several species that water temp is a factor.

    I could be mistaken but I believe it was

    warmer = more males

    colder = more females

  2. ya..the temperature affects the gender but also the ph level and all water flow when the mother is going to give birth because females are much more affected by these things
