  1. guppies have from1-50 fry a female, so youll get alot lol.. all of my fry, ive fed them crushed fish flake food

  2. Well, if you want to get seriouse about breeding show quality guppies, you should focus on one strain of guppies and but 5 males and 5 females. Put them in a 10 gallon tank with a divider. When you want to spawn 2 of them, put the male and female you want to mate in a 10 gallon tank for 2 days, then take the male out and put lots of fake plants for the babies to hide in in there. Keep the female in there untill she gives birth and then take her out. Put her back in another birthing tank about 25 days later untill she gives birth again because guppies can hold sperm inside of them for up to 8 births! Move the fry into the 10 gallon tank with the other fry. Just keep doing that untill she stops giving birth, then mate your next pair.

Raise the fry on microworms or baby brineshrimp to get the most ammount that lives. Focus on 1 strain and bred and try to improve the finnage or colors. Don't just breed to make pretty fish, breed to make better quality guppies.Don't keep males and females together or else you will not be able to tell the parents of the fry and not as many will survive b/c the adults will eat the babies. Remember, it is best to start out with one strain of guppies and if you breed some good guppies, try to start a new strain.=)Good luck with your fishes!

  3. Guppies are the easiest fish to breed. Just leave them together and wait.

But think about this- it is VERY hard to determine the gender of a guppy later on in life. You might be certain it is a female but it might be a less colorful male. Once you start breeding them it is very hard to stop them. I started with 5 guppies in a 25 gallon tank, after a year I had over 100 guppies, as people mentioned, I couldn't even GIVE them back at pet stores. Now all my friends have guppies too, its like a blessing and a curse. Make sure you want to have lots of fish for a long long time :)

They were all very pretty though :)

    Good luck!

  4. Here's a website that may help you in your endeavor:

    Good luck!

  5. Pretty much all you need to do is put them together.  I hope you realize that there is no market for them.  If you breed a whole lot then you'll have to find ways to get rid of them to friends or use them as feeders.  99.95 of pet stores won't even take them for free.

You can buy fry food and you will need either a box filter, an udergravel filter or some kind of netting over an external filter for the fry tank so they don't get sucked in.  Unless you breed only one kind, you will end up with a lot of weird mutations of fish and even with only staying true to kind you still end up with a lot that aren't the same as the parents.
