Gusto likely to dominate Bluesquare.com Spring Cup
Gusto has been awarded with the best odds for winning the Bluesquare.com Spring Cup (Listed Race) at Lingfield in England on Saturday, March 24, 2012. A cash prize of £22,684 has been set for the class-1 race.
A total of 11 runners will battle for victory over 7 furlongs and the going will be standard. The race is scheduled to start at 2:25 GMT and the entries confirmed are as follows: Gusto, Bannock, Gatepost, Pale Orchid, Boris Grigoriev, Crown Dependency, Big
Note, Kenny Powers, Kickingthelilly, Equation Of Time and Arbitrageur.
Gusto has been in excellent form over the past few months, thus the bookmakers rated his as favourite for the event. The punters will also be encouraged to place maximum number of bets in his favour today.
The three-year-old colt does not have much experience under his belt, but he has proven to be a competitive runner since making debut. He managed to win the second race of his career, but struggled to keep the momentum going after that.
However, Richard Hannon’s trainee picked his game after struggling to some extent and is full of confidence at the moment. He has entered seven races in his career until now, winning three of them. He also managed to secure a third place once, which shows
that he has the potential of challenging for top positions.
The most important thing is that Gusto’s recent form has been spectacular. He has earned a couple of back to back victories and looks in a good shape to complete a hat-trick. His most recent outing was quite tough, but he still managed to finish on top by
a neck distance.
Today’s favourite runner will be partnered by Ryan Moore, who has got plenty of experience at this level. The veteran jockey has got an impressive strike rate, thus there are every chances of him finishing on top yet again.
The bookmakers have also shown some faith in Bannock, who has been given decent odds. However, his recent performances have not been good, thus the bettors will not be risking much money in his favour.
The three-year-old colt, trained by Mark Johnston has won three races out of 11 attempts. He lacks rhythm at the moment and will not find things easy at all.
The rest of the runners will also find it difficult to challenge Gusto, who is in excellent shape at the moment and will most probably dominate proceedings at Lingfield.
