The retired Spanish footballer could not understand the acquisition of Michael Essien from Chelsea, claiming that Esteban Granero is a much better player than the Ghanaian.
Guti has taken up the issue of Real Madrid’s latest signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The cantera graduate could not understand why Jose Mourinho had to let go off Esteban Granero and Lassana Diarra to get a crooked footballer.

perplexed him.
Continuing on the topic, Guti claimed that something is amiss in the Spanish capital as he pointed fingers at Los Blancos wheeling and dealings in the 2012 summer transfer.
He stated that in an era where Spanish footballers are the cream of world football, why the Capital club’s hierarchy so intent at selling them off, a situation that grieves him to look at.
Guti remarked that the financial transactions should be kept an eye on; as he claimed that the rights of Spanish players are not being given to them and are stolen by foreign imports.
"There are things I cannot understand in football and one of them is to let go of Granero for Essien. Granero is much better than him and is Spanish," Guti has written in a first message.
"Right now the best players are Spanish, what happens is that more money is stolen if a foreign player is added, it gives me much grief."

He questioned the intelligence of the sporting staff in having expensive bench warmers with Castilla players knocking on first team doors.
"Having Khedira, Granero, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045 and Modric if they fail these three, do we need to Lass or Essien? I think there is not and the quarry," the 13-time capped Spanish international commented.
"It is my opinion and what I really think. That does not mean it has to be right, as I always say."
