Guti says Jose Mourinho did not make him leave and Carvalho hails his manager
Guti the former Real Madrid midfielder had been with the club ever since he was a 13-year old boy, and he had repeatedly said that he wanted to end his career at Madrid. However, the Spaniard was not able to fulfil his dream of retiring at Bernabeau.  Guti
move to Turkish side Besiktas in the summer and following his move there were number of rumours circulating that it was the new manager Jose Mourinho who forced him out of the team. However, Guti has insisted time and again that it was his own decision and
Jose Mourinho had nothing to do with him leaving the club.
Guti had decided to leave the club once the news broke that Mourinho would be taking over as manager. The former Spanish international said that he actually never got a chance to speak to Mourinho before leaving the club, so there is no question of Jose
asking him to leave in the first place. He said, "I've never spoken to ‘Mou', so there was no misunderstanding between us."
Guti was not the only one who left Madrid after growing up in the all whites since the age of 11. Former Spain and Real Madrid captain Raul also left the club in the summer, making his way to Germany to join Stuttgart.
The 33-year-old said that the only disappointment for him and Raul was that, they were not given a proper send off and all they got was just a press conference.
"It was a slightly sad farewell for all the years we were there - perhaps deserved more than a press conference," he admitted.
The midfielder also said that he loved every moment that he played at Madrid, and he would love to help the club out whenever and however he can. Guti said that despite the disappointing send off from the club, he has Madrid in his heart and would always
be there to help his team out.
Guti said, "I would love to return to the club, like Raul. We know the club and we can help."
While, on one hand, there is a former player who is trying to clear out the name of Madrid manager, a new recruit of Madrid is also praising the name of the special one. Ricardo Carvalho who followed Mourinho to a 3rd club after being his pupil
at Porto and Chelsea has now joined Real Madrid.
Carvalho has always had a special bond with his manager, and said that Jose is special and has earned so much success because he is able to think as a player.
"His Porto was fantastic," Carvalho told AS. "We were all very well attuned and the way we played was perfect. He is a coach who thinks like the players or myself; its worth more playing badly to win than playing well to lose.”
The centre back said that Mourinho is a manager who is always striving for success, and playing an ugly match and winning is not his style. He added that normally when the team comes away with 3 points but does not display his particular dynamic style of
play, the manager is always upset with the team.
The former Spanish champions have been under the hammer from Spanish media this season for lack of goals.  Currently they lie in the 3rd spot and have only managed 8 goals in 6 games; Carvalho said that despite the lack of bite in attack this
season, his team has enough goal scorers. He added that even though he is a defender by trade, he would do all he can to help out the team in attack.
"It's an impulse to try to go and help," he said. "The important thing is to read the situation and play. And the only thing complicated knows when the best time to go back is."
