Newcastle United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Gutierrez is confident of success with the club this season, and is hopeful that they will rediscover their form and climb up the league table.
The Magpies have had an indifferent start to the Premier League campaign this season. Having started off the season with high expectations after last campaign’s impressive 5th place finish, Newcastle never really got around to making an impact.
The Magpies suffered injuries to key players at the season’s start, and lost others due to suspensions. The likes of captain Fabricio Coloccini, Tim Krul, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Simpson and Cheick Tiote have all been in and out of the team due to injuries and suspension
while Haris Vuckic and Ryan Taylor have been ruled out for the entire season due to serious and long-term setbacks.
Recently, Newcastle lost influential and star midfield players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884. The former is not expected back in the team until February, while the latter may return in the coming weeks.
The loss of such key players has seriously dealt a blow to the team’s chances this season, and Newcastle struggle to get results as they sit at 14th on the league table. The Magpies recently won their 2nd league game in 6 consecutive
fixtures last week in the 1-0 win over Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, who themselves are struggling with only 1 win in 18 games.
Amidst all the anxiety and the pressure, midfielder Jonas Gutierrez recently gave a casual interview where he discussed the passion of manager Alan Pardew, and also discussed the different nationalities in the Newcastle squad. The player made fun of his
teammates’ English accents and praised the manager’s approach to games and training.
Gutierrez said:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has found a really good group of players who all want to do very well for the team. It’s a difficult season, we’re conceding goals we kept out last year, but we’re all still working very hard. Last season we were lucky with injuries and suspensions.
“This year we’ve been unlucky and we now know it is the hardest thing to play in Europa League and the Premier League. But we have to start winning and ease the pressure, and hopefully we’ll climb up the table and finish on a high.”
