The Dutch tactician believes that Anzhi Makhachkala showed great determination to win the latest Russian Premier League tie against Volga Novgorod
Anzhi Makhachkala head coach, Guus Hiddink, has insisted that the ambitious Russian outfit will go all in to win their first Russian Premier League title this season after claiming the top-spot on the league table.
The Makhachkala-based club managed to claim the top spot after winning the latest league tie 2-1 against Volga Nizhny Novgorod at Stadion Dynamo (Makhachkala) on Sunday.
However, things were a little complicated for Hiddink, who joined the Russian outfit this summer. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss was criticized for a below par start to the ongoing league campaign despite having a star studded squad.
Though Anzhi suffered just one league defeat against CSKA Moscow ever since his arrival, the critics never stopped complaining about the style of the manager, who came to Russia for the very first time in his career as a manager.
Hiddink credited his entire side for turning the tables after a slow start, saying that the Dagestani club was unfortunate to record a 1-0 defeat against the Moscow-based club earlier this season.
“We will do anything possible to retain the top-spot on the league table. We are worried after a slow start to the season but we managed to alter the situation. Of course, you need to think about balance, for which you need to
rotate players in different matches.”
“Of course, for successful participation in various tournaments, respectively, the team must maintain a functional state. That's why I'm talking about balance. I think we're ready for it. We will try to retain the top-spot on the
league table as far as we can.” The FA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Anzhi will now take on Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League group stage match before hosting Spartak Moscow and going head to head with Dynamo Moscow on the away turf later this month.
Hiddink went on to urge Anzhi to extend their winning run as they are entering the new month with a hectic schedule of matches.
