The Dutch tactician has backed Arseniy Logashov to shine in the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against Zenit St. Petersburg at home
Anzhi Makhachkala will play the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against Zenit St. Petersburg at Stadion Dynamo (Makhachkala) on the back of a 1-0 defeat against CSKA Moscow at Luzhniki stadium last week.
However, Guus Hiddink remains optimistic about the team’s progress since the start of the league campaign this season, saying that the Makhachkala-based club can end Zenit’s winning league run.
“To come up with a recipe against such a strong opponent is very difficult. Last season, playing in Makhachkala, we could not find an exhaustive answer to this question. In this championship, Zenit shows very powerful and modern
football, but we will try to stop them.” The FA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
The former Real Madrid manager went on to praise Arseniy Logashov, admitting that the young defender is doing well at the moment. He told the media that the Russian stopper can handle Zenit’s Domenico Criscito, who had a terrific
last game against Spartak Moscow.
“I think he can cope up with the pressure. Arseniy - young and ambitious player, and if he will play Sunday, it proves that he can bring many benefits to Anzhi and the Russian national team. He needs to move forward in his career
and get rid of small defects.” he said
Hiddink backed Logashov to display similar performances on the pitch and urged the 20-year-old to keep improving with every game. The Dutch tactician told him to work on his weaknesses in a bid to become one of the top defenders

The fact that Zenit are playing the match on the back of a 5-0 win over Spartak Moscow at Petrovsky stadium worries Hiddink, who is of the belief that the Wild-division will find it difficult to defeat the defending league champions
despite playing at home.
The former Turkish national team manager went on to admit that he was surprised to know that it is the Moscow-based club’s heaviest defeat since the inception of the Russian championship.
