Guus Hiddink declares himself open for Chelsea job – English Premier League news
Turkey manager, Guus Hiddink, has been linked with the Chelsea job and his agent Cees van Nieuwenhuizen has not ruled out the possibility of him making a return to club football. The agent further told that Hiddink is pleased with his current job but could
make a move if asked by the Blues officials.
The 64-year-old has not managed a club side since he was a manager at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 before being installed as a caretaker boss at Stamford Bridge. Hiddink himself admitted that this
factor would not affect him at all and he might accept the offer if Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, comes up with one.
The agent, though, confirmed that Hiddink’s duty with Turkey is not going to be over soon, which means that the Dutchman can only take charge at Stamford Bridge from October. Cees believes that the Dutchman might struggle managing a club side as he has not
done such a job for the past few years. The manager, meanwhile, thought otherwise and declared himself open for the job.
Talking upon Hiddink’s possibility as the Chelsea boss, the agent further told, “He said in his column in De Telegraaf [the Dutch newspaper] that as long as he is in the race for the European Championship with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026, he would continue to focus on that.
Once that is finished, he will start thinking about his future. I think that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 has to make a decision in the shorter term rather than waiting until November."
The most recent Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, was given the marching orders by the club’s officials after failing to inspire the club to any Silverware this season. The Blues were knocked out in the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League by Manchester
United and finished second in the league behind the same opposition, who won their record 19th title this season.
Hiddink is the front runner for the Blues job. Other names associated with this http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 are Porto manager, Andre Villas-Boas and former Ajax tactician, Marco van Basten.
