Guus Hiddink remains coy over Anzhi Makhachkala future after a decent campaign – Football News
Anzhi Makhachkala’s head coach, Guus Hiddink, has remained tight lipped over discussing his future at the moment after saying that he has not made up his mind to stay at Anzhi-Arena (Makhachkala).
The Dutch International said that he will confirm any decision after the Russian Cup final against CSKA Moscow next month. The Russian outfit defeated Zenit St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the competition
to reach the final.
“We agreed that the decision will be announced only after the Cup final.
“I have some ideas, but so far I am not ready to share them.
“To be honest, I have not thought about my future,” The former Real Madrid man was quoted as saying.
Reports in Italian media have linked Hiddink with a host of top European clubs, including a move to Serie A after the Dutch tactician expressed a desire to leave the Dagestani club in the near future.
If speculations are to be believed, Napoli are eyeing up a move for Hiddink given that Walter Mazzarri is going to leave the Italian outfit this summer. Mazzarri reportedly parted company with the Naples after
failing to help the club win silverware this season.
The 51-year-old stepped down as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 on Sunday.
Hiddink said that he did everything in his reach to alter the situation at the Makhachkala-based club after taking charge at the helm.
“At the beginning of the season, we restricted ourselves to some goals. It was very important to achieve these goals. For me it was very important not only to achieve results with the first team but also work
on Makhachkala Academy.
“I'm proud of the guys. We still have two matches. And we want to win these two games,” He concluded.
Anzhi will play the domestic Cup final against the Moscow-based club at Terek Stadium (Grozny) after taking on Kuban Krasnodar in the final league fixture of the campaign. As things stand, they are at the third
spot on the league table with 53 points.
